**This program is a semester-long commitment. By registering for this opportunity you are expected to serve at this program until the end of the semester. The reason some DOVE programming is structured like this is to create a sense of consistency for our more vulnerable partners, and to allow for volunteers to build relationships throughout the semester.

Mandatory orientation for the semester long commitment is scheduled for 9/8 10:30-11:30 pm on the Seton Hall campus. Upon registration the dates you are committing to serve are:

9/8 mandatory orientation/onboarding prep at Seton Hall campus 10:30-11:30
Students will volunteer at site 10:30-2:30 during the semester including transportation time
9/15 returning volunteers start
9/22 cleared background check volunteers start
9/29, 10/6, 10/20, 10/27, 11/3, 11/10, 11/17, 12/1, 12/8

Program Description: Raphael's Life House is a transitional residence for young women who are homeless and pregnant. Here, these women will find a place where they can rebuild their lives and give their child a positive start in life. Volunteers will give these new mothers a break by babysitting their infants for a few hours while they attend classes, apply for housing, jobs, or just have some time to themselves. Volunteers will be babysitting newborns and should be open to changing, feeding, and holding babies. Ratio between babies to volunteers could vary each week. Depending on ratio, volunteers may also be asked to assist with administrative tasks within Raphael Life House. Tasks may include organization of storage closets and basic office tasks as needed.

REQUIRED ONBOARDING: Due to the sensitive population we are working with, a background check, online training and paperwork will be required and provided by the program. To begin the process, all new volunteers on 9/8 please bring a form of ID (drivers license, passport or State ID).

Once registered, students will receive an email and reminder 24-48 hours before the event outlining any additional information needed.

DOVE Transportation: The event timing outlines the time volunteers will leave campus and the time volunteers will return to campus. Volunteers will meet the DOVE van on Seton Hall's campus Green between the University Center and Boland Hall (across from the cafeteria entrance). As part of DOVE's policy students must all leave and return to campus together unless given special permission to do otherwise.

DOVE Volunteer Absentee Policy:  The success of every DOVE program depends on volunteers showing up.  If you are signed up for a program and cannot attend, it is your responsibility to unregister within 2 days of the event. This will open up your spot to the next available volunteer. In case of an emergency volunteers must give their program coordinator 24-hour notice.  Any volunteer who misses THREE volunteer programs without notice will no longer be able to continue volunteering with DOVE.  Additionally, DOVE will not be able to verify or sign off on any completed volunteer hours for students that miss three programs.
